Hey guys, quick question on how Odin 1 handles navigation. Does the onboard MindSLAM algorithm focus primarily on real time self localization and building persistent spatial memory maps, or does it also handle tracking and trajectory prediction for dynamic obstacles (like people or other moving vehicles) in its field of view?
Hello @JDavid,
MindSLAM on the Odin 1 focuses primarily on real-time self-localization and generating persistent spatial memory maps. It does not directly handle dynamic obstacle tracking or trajectory prediction.
Instead, the Odin 1 outputs synchronized pose data, point clouds, and RGB imagery to your host system’s navigation stack. Dynamic obstacle tracking and trajectory prediction for entities like pedestrians or vehicles should be processed downstream via ROS/ROS2 nodes or custom target tracking algorithms.
